Treat your High Blood Pressure

Posted on July 18, 2011 | Comments Off

High blood pressure (HBP) or hypertension is a serious condition that can lead to coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, and other health problems. Avapro (generic name: irbesartan) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used mainly for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). In people with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, Avapro is also prescribed to prevent damage to the kidneys, often delaying the need for dialysis and a kidney transplant. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines. Initial dose is 150 mg and it can be increased up to 300 mg on necessity. Avapro is taken once a day preferably at the same time. It should not be used during the last six months of pregnancy.
