Hot Wheels cars were first released in 1968 in the US by a popular toy manufacturer called Mattel. This premiere line of Hot Wheels was designed in 1967 mostly by Harry Bentley Bradley. The 16 die-cast collectible toy cars are now known to us as the “sweet sixteen”.
These toy cars were manufactured using the die casting method which is using metal and plastic for the toy’s structure. ZAMAK is the most common metal that is used; a metal alloy of zinc and aluminum. The first release of Hot Wheels cars were scaled 1:64 and could be played with the Hot Wheels track sets. By the year 1970, the lines of cars were scaled 1:43. These cars are complete with working suspension, bearing, and a paint job that catches the eye of every kid and of course the unbeatable speed and performance.
