Find out more about vegetables

Farmers can use dozens of chemicals to fight off insects, bugs, weeds, mold and rot. Here is a list of vegetables and useful information about them:
1. Eggplant has a slick surface that sheds chemicals. Not sure, just peel before using.
2. Cabbage is sprayed but the outer leaves are discarded before sale where the pesticide would remain.
3. Kiwifruits farmers use lacewings and parasitic wasps to control pest.
Some fruits and vegetables need more help than others. Although we wash produce, there is chemical residue left on the conventional fruits and vegetables. It may help to know/understand why certain vegetables and fruits are dirty than others. They’re dirtier because of how they grow.
